A Way out of the Wilderness

(In the words of K. Chiranjeevi)

My name is Chiranjeevi. My family and I live in Takkellapadu village, in Prakasam district. I came from a very poor family, where we couldn’t afford even food on some days. I didn’t go to school, because our family couldn’t afford to pay the school fee. From a young age I have been going for daily wage labour work. While the elder people took care of work involving heavy loads, the younger kids were allowed to take care of smaller work. This way I earned an income for the house. Even after I grew up I continued doing daily wage work. But I couldn’t afford my wife and children too. It was like I was stuck in a never-ending cycle. I did not want my children to go through the same life. I wanted to break away from this life.

One day, the pastor of the church, Ps. Jacob came to my home. He knew my family and knew my struggle. He told me about CBC and I knew God had seen my heart to get out of poverty. I applied for the loan to buy an auto. By God’s grace my application was approved and I received a loan of Rs. 30,000. I drive people in my auto and take them safely to their destination. Everyday I earn Rs. 500 from the auto. Monthly it sums upto Rs. 15,000. This is surely a great blessing to my family from God. Now, we enjoy three square meals everyday. My children are going to a good school. I’m paying off all my debts and also paying off the loan amount from CBC. Now, my wife and I plan to build a home for the family. For all these blessings I’m eternally grateful to God and to CBC for lending a helping hand to uplift us and give us a better life.
